A statement of support from your Student Representative Council regarding the ongoing conflict in Israel and Palestine

As the situation in Israel and Palestine continues to escalate, we want to express our support for any students feeling affected, or whose families may be impacted, by the conflict taking place in the Middle-East. The MSRC stands in solidarity with the BMA in expressing its deep concern with the events in Israel and Gaza. The BMA’s statement can be found here.

We also want you to know that we are in continuous dialogue with the School about new ways to provide support to all students during these challenging times.

We encourage anyone affected, student or staff, who are in need of support to contact one of the various support services put in place by either the School of Medicine,  Central University, or LUU to receive free, impartial, and confidential advice.

LUU Help and Support can be accessed here. Their statement on this can be found here.

The World Event Support pages on the University website have also been updated with support resources: https://students.leeds.ac.uk/worldeventssupport.

Students can also contact the School's Student Support and Wellbeing Team at somstudentsupport@leeds.ac.uk for additional support.

If you are affected by the current situation, please do not hesitate to get in touch with us general@msrcleeds.co.uk, so we can help to signpost you to relevant resources and support.

Our thoughts are with everybody affected at this time.
