February Minutes
The beginning of February was dedicated to solving some of these issues raised to us by the Year 3 cohort, regarding the lack of exposure to different specialities on certain clinical placements. In response, MSRC collated a document of all the different speciality exposures on each Y3 clinical attachment and sent this for feedback to the MBChB team. We also started to think about planning our annual Worsley Awards, with preparations in the works to make it our best event yet!
Our MUMs reps were also keen to organise a new event, with suggestions made about a possible laser tag social. Additionally, our annual Helping Hands week was a huge success, with many people enjoying our climbing wall and sip and paint activities in an effort to support the well-being of students. We were also busy organising academic opportunities for students, with our research rep still contacting supervisors as part of our brand-new research scheme that was started this year.
Issues raised about the PSA and mock MLA for Year 5 students were also brought to our attention and passed on to the MBChB team. Our Year 2 team also met with the MBChB team to discuss difficulties raised by students about the structure of the ENQUIRE module. Our Year 3 team has also been in discussions with the MBChB team about problems with completing workplace assessments by the end of the final rotation, which has now been addressed. Overall, this has been a very successful month for the MSRC committee!
