March Minutes

The beginning of March was all about event planning, with MSRC working hard to organise a laser tag social for MUMs and our annual Worsley Awards. Queries from clinical-year students about the new UKMLA changes were also raised and passed on to the Head of MBChB. As we moved on through March, the nominations for the Worsley Awards flooded in. Our dedicated committee team spent hours debating the nominations and selecting the worthy winners for this year’s awards.

All invites to the Worsleys’ have now been sent, and preparations are underway to make it the most memorable night of the year. We have also been busy organising our second merch drop of this year. Merch has now arrived, and we are waiting to distribute this after the Easter break! If this wasn’t enough, our committee has also been organising Medics Varsity. The pitches have been booked, dates are arranged, and teams are ready to go.

In our final meeting of this year, we discussed organising ‘Scrubs and Lab coats for students’, an incredibly successful scheme last year that we are hoping to continue. The anatomy team and second-year and fifth-year students will be contacted about this in due course, and we are hoping to get as many donations as possible! We also handed out our committee prizes for the term to: Keerthenan Raveendra (Best Year Rep), Kiran Anand (Best Specialty Rep) and Finlay Hewson (Best New Rep). Well done!

We closed our final meeting with a massive thank you to this year’s executive team, namely our wonderful President and Vice-President, for making this academic year so successful! We will be opening our AGM for MSRC elections next year, so if you would like to make a positive change for your peers, make sure to nominate yourself!
